Greetings from Florida!

I’m in a bit of a rush - this is just a quick post with snapshots from our shoots today. Thought some would like to see.
I will be posting more photos later.
Some friends are coming with us tomorrow who are going to help me chase down some references on the beach…
lol!

At the end of 2007, my Mom, Karen, sister, Bonnie, and I returned to the Artists For Conservation, an association/society of artists that is dedicated to conservation of nature. The profile for my membership on the AFC foundation’s website has just gone "live", with my family’s soon to follow.
Artists for Conservation Foundation (AFC)

A quick note - ArtsWOM, a British blog for the arts sponsored by Sky Arts (Sky TV network), posted a very nice review of my artwork and blog as their "Showcase Pick" on June 4th - see it here. A big "thank you" to them! ![]()

I am at the Minnesota Safari Club International State Convention, North of the Twin Cities. Tonight was the opening VIP reception — tomorrow will be open to the public all day. :D Thanks to everyone who dropped by our exhibit this evening!
Tomorrow will be pretty busy for me
— I will be painting a watercolor from start to finish tomorrow during the event. The final painting will then be auctioned in the live auction in the evening. ![]()

This is a recent image of my miniature landscape painting that I am working on. It still has some more details and textures to be added to it, but the in-progress picture should give you an idea of how the miniature landscape is coming out.

Today I am finishing a number of paintings for our show at Galleries West out here in Jackson Hole. I am a bit anxious to get to Jackson Hole, anticipation for the show I suppose. :)
A wildflower hike started off the morning for me today — of course, it wasn’t exclusively wildflowers.
I was followed for part of my research trek by a little resident red squirrel. He wasn’t too thrilled that I stopped to study some flowers near his tree and voiced his opinion of it. I thought it was a wonderful to see this little creature defending his territory, even though I get to see red squirrels in my own backyard.

I am doing quite a bit of painting out here in the Grand Teton National Park, but I did find the time to peel myself away from the easel a few times to walk around a bit in the park. There is always a lot to see on hikes in this area. I spotted a Townsend warbler pair along a trail in the park today while doing a little research. :D

Doing a little sketching today.
I have some ideas for some new paintings and am just getting them drawn out in pencil. It has been thunderstorming on and off all day today, as weather often is in the mountains, so it has been nice to do a little work inside. ![]()
