I recently finished a commission of a number of ducks (waterfowl). I really enjoyed painting these birds and the habitats.Â
The models for these paintings were simply beautiful, though the weather decided not to co-operate during our studies (in the rain). Each bird seemed to have it’s own personality, so a part of my goal in each piece was to capture the essence of each bird.

My print signing sessions have begun. I put a bit of time in autographing today at Maximum Graphics for the Ducks Unlimited Sponsor Print (only 4,500 more prints left to go!!
).

I visited the printer today to approve the final proof for the Ducks Unlimited Sponsor Print. I think it looks very nice - the colors reproduced well.
It is really exciting to see the finished (or near finished) product of your artwork being made like this. I am so happy to be able to do my part to help Ducks Unlimited the wildlife and wild places that mean so much to me

I never posted the final image of my Canadian Goose painting, so here is the completed piece. The painting is now in the process of being printed in lithograph. I will add updates about that a bit later

I have been painting on this piece (of a drake goldeneye duck) today. I like how all of the soft tones in the painting are coming along. :)

I am busily painting on my golden eye drake (duck) painting. I plan to have some photos of all of these duck paintings online in the blog (and parhaps elsewhere)soon. I’m just a little behind in that area at the moment
.
I don’t really get traditional "vacation holidays" from work
- but we did have a wonderful meal for Thanksgiving. I feel so fortunate and blessed for having such a wonderfully supportive family and a job I love. I couldn’t ask for more!!

I have been fussing with my canadian goose painting a little today. It’s one of those pieces that I could tweak forever
— I’ll be finished with it soon.

I’ve spent most of today painting on my Canadian Goose painting for Minnesota Ducks Unlimited — working on the abstract water patterns. I will get a fresh photo of it posted soon so everyone can see it’s progress.

I have been painting on a few of the requested waterfowl paintings I have in progress at the moment. They are coming along nicely. :) I have included a photograph of a detail portion of the wood duck piece.
