Here is the progress of my Bull Moose miniature painting. I have some of the habitat yet to complete, but it is shaping up fairly well, I think. :) ![]()

This is a picture of one of my new miniature paintings - a bull moose from Wyoming. I am very pleased wit the way it is turning out. I will post a better photo of it when the painting is a little farther along.

This is a sketch of one of the paintings I’m working on right now. I have done a little work in color on it since this photo was taken. I’ll get a fresh picture of it online when it’s a little farther along.
I also started a large bird painting (30×40) a few days ago that is on my easel at the moment. I was so involved in the painting process for it that I forgot to snap a photo of the initial sketch for the blog, so unfortunately that piece will have to wait a bit before posting.![]()

My family and I painted in the gallery today (Galleries West Fine Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming -www.gallerieswestjacksonhole.com- ). The gallery was completely rehung this afternoon for the upcoming "Fall Roundup" (their third annual) group showing for the artists in the gallery during Jackson’s Fall Arts Festival. It looks really nice!
I’ve added a photo of a view of the gallery’s interior — my Mom, Karen’s easel (left) and my little "studio" setup (center).
I am still working on my large cougar painting, as you can see. It’s coming along pretty well. My Mom is painting on a new bull moose piece (which, of course, I think is fantastic!
).
Pictured in the background is R. Scott Nickell, one of the gallery’s owners as well as the gallery’s resident sculptor. He has a lot of large bronzes in the gallery featuring Native American Indians (that are also pictured in the photo).

I think this moose painting I’ve been working on is just about finished. It is the largest watercolor painting I’ve ever painted — measuring almost 30×40 inches.
Tonight, at sunset, I saw an adult American Blad Eagle soaring over the river — it was so beautiful! (I also spotted a prairie chicken in the yard today! :))

The new Minneapolis art exhibition & sale, "Drawn to Nature", has just come to a close. It is so nice to have a show like this in Minnesota again. Thanks to all of our friends & patrons for
visiting us this past weekend!! It seems strange — how simple things affect creativity. Returning from our visit to the west, I was so inspired to paint! I painted the painting on the right (standing moose bull) in one "sitting" in the car one day. Of course it isn’t finished, but what I was able to accomplish came so easily and freely. A little inspiration definitely goes a long way! ![]()
