This is the third floral painting I’ve completed recently. I think I should start a few more…
This is another painting that was inspired from the Minnesota Arboretum. I loved touring the grounds there.
In the evening during our last visit (last spring), there was a group of plein aire oil painters setting up to work. Some of them had half of the gardens painted on their canvases by the time I was leaving the grounds. It would have been quite an experience to have joined them.

This is a little rabbit painting that was finished recently – watercolor on board (approx. 6×6). It is currently on display at Moosehorn Gallery in Livingston, Montana.
The studio remains busy with dozens of paintings in the final stages that will hopefully be completed soon.

This is another one of my floral pieces that were just completed – a waterlily from sunken aquatic garden at the conservatory in Saint Paul that I visit occasionally. This was a very fun piece to paint. The cupped shaped petals, glowing pink in the depths of the blossom from the sun streaming down, and intense golden center…all set off by accents of blue reflected from the clear sky. Simply beautiful. …and had to be painted.
The painting is 5×7, watercolor on board (and painted in miniature of course).
