This is a snapshot of my most recent work in progress. The painting is a portrait of an American Bald Eagle, 8×10 (traditional miniature). She is an education bird that has been at several locations here in the Twin Cities, her name is Tempest.
Thanks for dropping by....

This is another work in progress… It is about 5×7, watercolor, featuring a little whitetail fawn. This little one just made me smile.
(both when I visited her and while painting her portrait) I hope to capture her softness and personality in the finished piece.
I have another painting of a young fawn resting in the grass that hasn’t quite made it’s way to a post on my blog as well…which, depending on the color schemes of the two works when complete, may be a companion piece.

This is a new painting that was started a day or so ago, shown here in it’s sepia stage. It is watercolor and about 8″x10″. When I had the chance to study this wolf, I was particularly drawn to his beautiful light eyes (with a faint hint of aqua) in the morning sun. When he looked at you it was almost eerie…I knew immediately he would have to be painted.
Painting in the fur textures on this piece has been so much fun!
..and progressed rather quickly for this size of a piece. (….though I may have been slightly excessive in my enthusiasm while painting it in…or so my painting muscles are telling me… :/ )

In attempts to post paintings I’ve recently neglected to list on my blog
…. This is another small work in progress of a Kestrel that is on my easel at the moment. I love the color contrast of pale blue and rusts of these stunning birds – beautiful palette to work in.
This has been a fun little painting so far.

I thought I might load up a progress post of ‘Wistful’ for everyone who would like to take a peek.
He’s coming along fairly well.

.
These are two new paintings I am working on at the moment “Trail Mix – Red Squirrel” (5×7) and “Wistful – Timberwolf” (Approximately 8×10). Both are pictured here in the sepia stage.
I have a large body of new work that will be distributed later this summer and fall at various galleries and exhibitions. …so more to come shortly.
