Hello Rebecca,
I could not possibly tell you how much your work affects me. The warmth you bring to every subject you paint...the life that you imbue in each makes me want to reach out and touch them...To feel their fur or feathers ruffle against my fingers. I am hoping to find some way to bring that same life into my own work. I know that your heart goes into each....your gift into each...but I know that technique and materials are also important in breathing that life into each subject. I am a late bloomer. I'm 48 and I've only recently discovered that I have some promise in drawing, but after seeing your work I find myself drawn to watercolor...not just any watercolor...but your "style" (detailed miniature) and intensity in watercolor. I'm willing to invest in some quality materials to begin with, and I wondered if you could suggest some materials I should start with for this type of painting. Brushes, paints, papers.....etc. I have watched your video of the mountain lion over and over and it inspires me each time. Thank you so much for putting it up.

@Carolina Thank you! My Mom is just starting on the 2010 Illinois Habitat Stamp/Print. :)

@RaeDi Thanks! Yes, they are very beautiful animals. Their coats are such a stunning burnt red color sometimes...amazing. ...but you are right..they are so quick...it is difficult to capture them with your camera.

@David Thank you!

@David K Thanks- I'm glad you enjoy it! It would be nice to meet you someday. I've seen your work (online) and your society's website...Kudos! I don't know what advice to give....except work hard and keep at it. Simple, but it's worked for me. All best wishes -- thanks for stopping by!

@Kristen Thank you! Don't be too hard on yourself. Being 15 and finding something you really enjoy is fantastic! Just keep going... :D

wow!!! That is such an over used word and I hate to use it but I can think of no better one!!! I love your work. I am what I would like to call an emerging wild life artist... But I am young, 15 actually and not that great... Mostly pencil work. Do you have any advice for a hopeful on looker? Thanks;)

This is absolutely beautiful, what talent. I have always had a love affair with the fox. For years she would come through our front yard weekly, early in the morn. I tried to get pictures ~ it just never happened. I love to do my watercolors from the pictures I take. I could look at this picture and study it forever. Thank you for sharing your gifted talents with the brush....RaeDi
