I just received an official notice from the exhibition faculty tonight that this painting, "Daydream", was awarded first place in the 24th Annual North American Miniature Art Exhibition in Baltimore, Maryland.
The exhibit is hosted and sponsored by The Art Gallery of Fells Point (www.fellspointgallery.org).
The show will be on through October 28th.

This landscape (top) is a view from Paradise Valley, where our Montana gallery, ‘
Moosehorn Gallery‘ is located.
We painted in the gallery showroom again for the event - thanks to them for a great show.
We hope to be back to see everyone next year for the gallery’s upcoming events.

Lots of beautiful views like this one. :) The fall colors were very vibrant. I already have a few new paintings planned…

A little wildlife searching in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. (Photo credits to my Dad for the top photo of the cow moose who was strangely interested in the area around the car. )

This is a snapshot from the Fall Roundup reception today at Galleries West in Jackson Hole. In the center of the top picture is Marilyn Peck (artist) chatting with Bill & Debbie Bunch (two of the gallery’s owners).

This is the progress on my cougar painting. The cat itself is about done, but the background has not been developed. I will have to find the habitat to put in the background and beneath the cat during one of my hikes around the area.

Spent the day painting a few new pieces in Galleries West in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The gallery recently remodeled and expanded their showroom.

My family and I will be a part of the Jackson Fall Arts Festival - participating in our gallery’s events. We will be painting in the showroom on Friday & Saturday (possibly on Thursday evening as well) for their "Fall Roundup" exhibition. I will be painting this new cougar piece - this is the sketch for the painting. The painting is a larger miniature - it will be around 16×22 when it is finished.
Visit Galleries West’s website, www.gallerieswestjacksonhole.com, for the gallery hours and contact information.

This is one of my new pieces that will be in the RMS (Royal Miniature Society of Painters, Sculptors, & Gravers) exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London this fall. Please see the Society’s website for information about attending the exhibit - royal-miniature-society.org.uk The RMS is the oldest and most respected miniature art society in the world.
I had a number of paintings shown in the Hilliard Society of Miniaturists exhibition in Wells, Somerset as well a little earlier this year. Also, thanks to the HS (and the book publisher
) for the invitation of inclusion in the next edition of the British publication, "Who’s Who in Art"

My family and I went to the Birds in Art exhibit this past weekend in Wausau, Wisconsin - had a wonderful time.
My Mom’s painting "Fluff and Fold" was in the show. (…very proud of her.
) During much of the exhibit, the artists are asked to stay near where their artwork is hung in the galleries, but I did escape a little bit to roam the exhibition.
Carl Brenders, as many of my blog visitors already know, is one of the artists that I’ve had the opportunity to study with in the workshops I’ve taken in my training to be an artist. Of all of the instructors I’ve had, he has influenced my style and approach to painting the most. This weekend at the Birds in Art opening, Carl’s work was hanging just across from my Mom’s - so we chatted a bit with him during part of the events. He went through his new book for us, page by page, discussing his pieces that are published in it in depth.
I have said this before, but I have had so much encouragement and support from many wonderful people. I wouldn’t be the artist I am if they hadn’t taken the time. I can’t put into words how much they have helped me. :D
