Some people find it interesting that I (or other artists in my family) will bring twigs, sticks, grass, rocks, leaves, logs, etc. into the studio to paint from life - so I thought that some of you may like to see the log that’s in my studio right now for the
fox paintings that I’m working on. It, and the other sections of trees that I gathered for this project, are being returned to the "wild" when the paintings are completed.

Beautiful work! I love the log- it reminds me of the woods in Northern Michigan- just spent 4 days there in an old growth forest full of white pine, oak and sugar maple.

I thought I was the only artist that chases bugs crawling from mosses and logs….. ON MY EASEL! (nothing like the occasional earthworm peeking out of the moss to break the concentration)
Beautiful work BTW!

And I thought I was the only artist that had to chase bugs off my easel!
