This is a little miniature painting that I have been working on (on and off) for a while. I just love wildflowers – these are a cluster from here in Minnesota. I have a little more to do on it, but the photo of the painting should give you an idea of the mood and concept of the miniature.
I thought a miniature format for the painting would be perfect for a little splash of color. It is very tiny — as you can see by the photo of the painting.
The artwork is 1in x 1/2in. ![]()

Hi Dick,
Your photo shoot sounds like a lot of fun! Good luck – I hope you find lots of great things to photograph!
About keeping proportions accurate on miniatures….. Do all of your 1/6th scale measuring first and start out with a sketch that’s the right size. If you have any problems with your subject “growing” on you as you are painting, try scanning in your drawing on your computer and printing out a duplicate copy. Keep the copy next to you – it will help you see if things are starting to enlarge on you.
Hope this helps you out.
