Drawing a Hawk

Rebecca Latham's latest sketch in progress of a redtail hawk........This is a a drawing that I've been working on today - the beginnings of my next painting emoticon. It's a redtail hawk, Jamaica, from the Minnesota Raptor Center. I am just about finished with the sketch and should begin painting it in tomorrow.

    Hi Dylan,

    Thanks! :D

Practice a LOT. Draw from really good references and study your subject…go to zoos, take photos, sketch, learn all about what you’re drawing. Watch for the shading, observe the shape & form…darks & lights….

    Hope that helps… :D
