i want to be a painter like you.uoy are great painter.

  • tosif zahra Says:

i want to be a painter.will you tell me the trick how to be?

  • Rebecca Says:

@Joe – Thanks. It takes a lot of practice. I’m sure that if you put the time in you will be just great. :D Thanks for stopping by.

@Tosif – Thank you. There isn’t really a ‘trick’ to being good at something…it’s really just a lot of hard work. When I got started, I did something art related every time I had a spare moment…even working late to the early am hours and I could squeeze in on the weekends to make some extra paintings. It was constant, but it also gave me a *lot* of knowledge that I would never have had otherwise.

Now, I work all of the time, too…and keep trying to develop myself as an artist. There are so many great artists, old masters and masters of today (some of which I’ve studied with), that I look up to to grow my technique and methods to create better paintings. But really, I think that having so many things to learn and directions to take your art is what keeps you energized about your own work…you wouldn’t want it to get stale… ;)

hello i know the basic steps. but i dont know. how to draw a cougar like yours could u send me pics of a starter and step by step pictures please

  • rebeccalatham Says:

It really just comes with practice and observing your subject….being very conscious of all of the subtle changes in line and value. You might find it a little helpful to go to a drawing class…If there is an Atelier or school for classical drawing somewhere near where you live.

hey, I was just wondering if you take pictures of what you are going to draw and then draw it or do you just do it from memory? I love all of your drawings and paintings!!! I want to be as great as you!!! I just have a hard time with the details in the pictures i try to draw…
