This is a small thumbnail sketch (made in graphite) for a new watercolor miniature I’m starting to work on today. Each blossom in the painting is 1 inch or smaller per the 1/6th scale rule for miniature paintings.
I may paint more of these if this piece goes well. My miniature paintings I’ve completed recently have exceeded my expectations in the speed of their progression. I love being able to paint them so quickly!!!
I just finished this miniature painting today. The piece has been in my studio for a little while. I came up with a few new ideas for it while painting my last mute swan piece.
This is another painting that was researched a few years ago in Florida.
I’m nearly finished with my new mute swan painting — just a few little changes. I loved observing this swan one foggy morning a few years ago. Very inspirational!!
I think I will be sending this piece to one of our upcoming exhibitions.
I am starting a new mute swan painting today, so I’m including a small thumbnail sized sketch in today’s post. The new painting will be about 7×9 inches, more of a miniature piece.
This is a detail photo of my newest print — the first of the edition! It is a giclee on canvas of my recent painting "Snowy Perch – Snowy Owl" and is printed the same size as the original, 20×30 inches.
I’ve spent most of today painting on my Canadian Goose painting for Minnesota Ducks Unlimited — working on the abstract water patterns. I will get a fresh photo of it posted soon so everyone can see it’s progress.
