These wonderful little guys were so lively, they were hard to keep up with. The reference for this painting was taken when they finally stopped together long enough to get this great shot. It is so very special to be able to experience first hand these beautiful animals.

The snow leopard painting has come a long way since last post. It is nearing completion. I have a number of little putsy things to work on but will be done soon. I really love the way the light and shadows play on the rocks and the fur of the cat. -

Here is the Snow Leopard in progress (finally!!). Still lots to do with it, but I like the play of light in it thus far. I still have a few bugs to work out in the composition, but I mainly will now progress to adding more textures and color — and maybe a little more "eye candy", the fun stuff!! Keep watching!!

A new beginning……….It’s always fun to start a new painting, but this one is especially exciting! Not only do I get to paint BIG, but I also get to paint one of my favorite subjects – the Snow Leopard!! I already have a good start on it, so I will post a picture soon of the progress thus far.

One of my larger commissions, this ringneck pheasant was completed as a 24" x 36" painting. It was a challenge, both with a complexly patterned bird and a detailed background. I enjoyed painting it, but was happy to be finished!!

I was honored this week to receive the People’s Choice Award (Bronze medallion) at the 2005 Arts for the Parks exhibition in Yellowstone National Park, WY.
