Another wonderful swan pose. Always beautiful and a joy to paint!

A beautiful trumpeter swan swims on a quiet, peaceful pond.

Beaver by a stream.

These wonderful little guys were so lively, they were hard to keep up with. The reference for this painting was taken when they finally stopped together long enough to get this great shot. It is so very special to be able to experience first hand these beautiful animals.

Latham Studios has been signed by Hadley House! Earlier this year we were approached by the company and now things have been finalized. We are excited to be able to share our images with an even larger audience!

Here is the Snow Leopard in progress (finally!!). Still lots to do with it, but I like the play of light in it thus far. I still have a few bugs to work out in the composition, but I mainly will now progress to adding more textures and color — and maybe a little more "eye candy", the fun stuff!! Keep watching!!

A new beginning……….
It’s always fun to start a new painting, but this one is especially exciting! Not only do I get to paint BIG, but I also get to paint one of my favorite subjects – the Snow Leopard!! I already have a good start on it, so I will post a picture soon of the progress thus far.

One of my larger commissions, this ringneck pheasant was completed as a 24" x 36" painting. It was a challenge, both with a complexly patterned bird and a detailed background. I enjoyed painting it, but was happy to be finished!!

I was honored this week to receive the People’s Choice Award (Bronze medallion) at the 2005 Arts for the Parks exhibition in Yellowstone National Park, WY. To have your fellow artists and art patrons select your work for this award is unbelievably gratifying. Thanks so much to all who made it possible!
