The snow leopard painting has come a long way since last post. It is nearing completion. I have a number of little putsy things to work on but will be done soon. I really love the way the light and shadows play on the rocks and the fur of the cat.
Thanks for dropping by....

Hi
My name is Andrea*Minard. I’m 13 y/o and I’m a beginning painter and I think your painting is beautiful
I was just curious, but how do you paint fur (like layering)? And what medium do you use
-(?) I do watercolour and I really want to be a wildlife artist when I grow up, but fur is very confusing cause I am horrible at layering… So, I hope to hear from you soon

I love your paintings and my fav. animal is a snowleopard. Your paintings inspire me to do better and achive my best. I am 12 turning 13 this year and I have been drawing for many years. These last 2 years I have been taking art lessons on how to paint because whenever I paint a picture it comes out bad so I have to practice practice practice. This is one of the pics I drew a while ago.

HI, Karen, my names Jaide, and im new round here, but im 14yrs and have been into drawing since i was about three, and just resently am having ago at painting (im finding so much easier than drawing!) But. . . . i am having trouble with the texure of the fur, the focal points and lighting, its confusing sometimes. But i hope that you can help me, mind you, you dont HAVE to, but it would help. . . Any way, im an “up and coming” artist and my friends at the art society have nicknamed me “Picasso”(dont know how to spell it), but compared to art like yours and Joan Sharrocks, its like, toddler attempts!
Ive always had an interest in drawing/painting horses, Cats, people and basically the natural wildlife, but i also some times enjoy doing mythical creatures too. well hope you can help me. Thanx, Jaide.

Hey there!
my name is Annaliese and i’m 15 years old doing my GCSE art course hoping to take my work further. I have passion flowing through me and art is one of my favorite ways of expressing myself; I have strong views and beliefs although they are being shaped and perfected all off the time, whenever I feel strong emotion I portray this through my work. For example I do not unerstand how people cannot see that they are distroying everything good and beautiful in this world, so I try show the beauty of nature that people are becomeing more and more oblivious to. I can draw almost anything in pencils and make it look alive, yet I cannot paint quite as well, and my biggest problem is that I do not know how to paint fur. So if it is at all possible, since your work is just amazing and you seem to have perfected it even though you say that it isn’t finished (i honestly envy you skill) could you explain to me how you created such a fantastic effect and what you used. thank you xxx

Thank you everyone. I appreciate your kind comments. I love to paint cats. They are beautiful animals with so much expression and intensity. It is a challenge, but capturing that in a painting is indeed a reward in itself.
