74th Annual MPSGS Exhibition

Rebecca and Bonnie Latham were recently awarded at the 74th Annual Exhibiton of the Miniature Painters, Sculptors, & Gravers Society of Washington, DC (MPSGS) www.mpsgs.org.

Rebecca was awarded the "Manny Sullivan Award for Excellence - Second in show" (an award that she repeated from last year's exhibition), First place in "Animals and Birds", and first place in "Watermedia". Her sister, Bonnie, entered her first painting in the exhibition this year which was awarded an Honorable Mention in "Animals and Birds".

The exhibit of 699 miniature works of art will run Nov. 19 - Dec. 29, 2007 at the Strathmore Mansion (in North Bethesda, MD). This year's exhibition represents artists from 38 US states and 12 foreign countries.

American Art in Miniature - Thomas Gilcrease Museum - Tulsa, Oklahoma

The Thomas Gilcrease Museum held their "American Art in Miniature" art auction at the museum. Karen, Rebecca, and Bonnie Latham each had a painting accepted into the exhibition. Karen's painting, "First Light", was auctioned at $1000.00 over the asking price. It was both a compliment and an honor to be part of the exhibition supporting this wonderful museum.
 
The 46th Annual Art and the Animal Exhibition - The Society of Animal Artists
ImageThe Society of Animal Artists opened their 46th Annual Art and the Animal Exhibition this fall in Bennington, Vermont at the Bennington Center for the Arts. Bonnie Latham's painting, "Tranquility", was selected for the exhibition, which opened in September 15th and runs until November 30th.
 
2006 Kentucky National Wildlife Exhibition - Ohio Valley Art League (OVAL)

Rebecca Latham's painting "on the edge" was featured in the Ohio Valley Art League's international wildlife exhibition in Henderson, Kentucky. This was Rebecca's third consecutive showing in the exhibit.
